Wow..! Got it finally. I shouldn't have gone to the CISCO website. It only took my time. Anyway, this tuxx guy has got a lot for us. Here is what I followed to get the cisco vpn work in Ubuntu Intrepid running 2.6.27 (note that the following patch is valid for 2.6.24+).

The Client VPN connects successfully, but then says "No network access" when I hover over the connection. When using the client vpn connection I cannot ping the MX, or view our shared files and folders. Here are some good resources where you can download cisco vpn client for linux: cisco vpn. We've been using them without no problem in Fedora 13 and kernel 2.6.x. how-to. But be careful because as the other mate said, cisco is dropping cisco-vpn-client.

The latest version of the program can be installed on PCs running Windows XP/Vista/7/8/10, both 32 and 64-bit. Our antivirus scan shows that this download is safe. I installed Ubuntu 8.10 Server as guest on Windows XP SP3 as host using VirtualBox 2.2. On host i use Cisco VPN Client to get internet connection. The problem is that when Cisco VPN Client is connected it changes Windows routing table and i cannot use local network between host and guest. We use Checkpoint VPN. Windows laptops use a Checkpoint Secure Client software on the laptop to connect to the VPN. As far as I'm aware there is no linux Checkpoint Secure Client software. I don't know why you think Ubuntu's Cisco VPN config would work with Checkpoints VPN. Cisco is not Checkpoint.
