How to install and setup Hyper-V role on Windows Server Std. 2008 R2 with SQL Server 2012 already installed. SQL Server is the priority on this machine. Only one virtual machine will be installed and used to test disaster recovery restores from image backups of servers, when done testing the VM can be removed so we can test another server.

I'm considering getting these host servers upgraded to Server 2016 (2019 is an option but think 2016 will play better with their hardware), with a view to then upgrade the VMs as well.
